From creating a comfortable environment by serving with First Impressions, to leading the generation to Jesus by serving with FC Kids, or crafting a dynamic experience with the Production Team – we are a group that forcefully advances the Kingdom of God.
The Brew Crew is an energetic team that uses the gifts of Hospitality, Helps, and Evangelism to connect with guests and members by offering a hot cup of coffee and a warm welcome. If you have the ability to create warm and welcoming environments, the desire to work in a supportive role, or love to share the love of Jesus with those around you, the Brew Crew would be a great place for you to serve.
The Events team uses the gifts of Hospitality, Administration, and Leadership to creatively plan and hosts church-wide events that place priority on valuing people and serving with excellence. If you have the ability to manage multiple people and tasks, to create warm welcoming environments, or the ability to organize multiple tasks the Events team may be a great place for you.
First City Kids serves ages 3 years old (potty-trained) through 5th Grade. FC Kids’ goal is to create environments where children are consistently exposed to the love of Jesus. Through worship, small groups, games, and more. FC Kids uses The Gospel Project curriculum weekly to help prepare each week’s lesson. We strive to develop creative and fun ways to help kids learn, grow, and become all that God has for them. We do this in many creative ways with each age group.
First City Nursery serves ages infant to 3 years old. All children in FC Nursery visit our Cradle Roll class where they sing songs together and hear about God’s love for them. Their goal is to create environments where children are consistently exposed to the love of Jesus. We believe that every child matters deeply to God and is full of potential. We strive to develop creative and fun ways to help kids learn, grow and become all that God has for them.
The Finance Team uses their gifts to help with all things financial at First City. They help to set the budget, keep the budget accountable, and provide wisdom in future financial decisions. Our team’s goal is to support the staff at FCC and make sure are all tithing is being used for the Kingdom of God wisely. If you have experience managing finances, crunching numbers in Excel, or counting cash, this is the team for you.
This friendly team loves people and strives to make everyone feel at home here at First City Church. They welcome people with a smile and encouragement so that their hearts are open to the gospel message. If you have the natural ability to make people feel warmly welcomed and an open friendly personality the First Impressions team may be the place for you. Team members typically serve twice per month and in various greeting posts around the church.
The FC Kids Check-In Team welcomes families as they arrive at our FC Kids area. They facilitate the check-in process, ensuring children are cared for safely and effectively. If you have the natural ability to make people feel warmly welcomed and an open friendly personality the FC Kids Check-In team may be the place for you. Team members typically serve no more than twice per month.
Lift is our outreach ministry helping rescue hurting and abandoned children in our community. Our vision is to inspire our community to radically impact foster care and that we will support foster families, recruit foster families and partner with birth families. We do this a through multiple ministries: Families Count, Feed Fosters, Care Portal, Honduras Missions, Breakfast with Santa, and FC Outreach.
The production team consists of audio, video, lighting, stage and event designs, and our online presence. This team is great for people of all skill levels who have a heart for preparing the way for our guests to experience the presence of God. For those areas requiring experience, such as sound or video, training will be provided. There are weekly opportunities to serve in the sound booth to enhance our Sunday services. Ideally, this would be an every 2-3 week rotation. For those who are unable to commit to a recurring volunteer position, stage design and event decorating are periodic and often completed outside of Sunday mornings.
The Safety Team works behind the scenes to ensure that First City provides a safe environment for everyone. The Safety Team takes extra precaution while protecting our children’s areas because we want parents to be able to worship without a concern for their children’s safety. This team not only serves on Sunday mornings, but also helps to cover small groups and special events.
Small Group Leaders use the gifts of Teaching, Exhortation, Knowledge, and Discernment to connect with others, help others fulfill their passion, and develop their gifts. If you have the desire to encourage others and help them understand God’s word, and the ability to apply the truths found there in practical ways, or the desire to lead others into a closer relationship with God. Being a Small Group Leader is a great way for you to serve.
The Worship team uses their instrumental and vocal gifts to lead our congregation in the worship of our Living God. If God has called you to use those gifts to lead people to Jesus Christ through worship, this team would a great place for you to serve.
