At First City we love to do life together. Events at First City are designed to grow people spiritually, connect people together, and serve our community. We hope you will attend our next event to get connected!
This Christmas Eve we will be coming together at 5:00 pm to celebrate the birth of Jesus with a worship and candlelight service. Our FC Kids ministry has also planned a short program they will perform during the service. Afterward, cookies and hot cocoa will be available in the Coffee House for a special time of fellowship. This is a family-friendly service so FC Kids will be closed for all ages.
This will be a combined Sunday service with one service at 10:00 am. As we bring in the New Year, we want to take some time to celebrate together what 2024 held for each of us and what we have to look forward to in 2025. We will have tags for everyone to fill out with praises from 2024 and prayers for 2025. During service, there will be a time for anyone to come up and share their prayers/praises. This is a family-friendly service so FC Kids will be closed for all ages. There will be play boxes available for all children to pick up before service in the Kids Check-In room.
During both services on Sunday, January 5 Taran Howell, our Lead Pastor, will be sharing some of our big wins from 2024 and casting vision for 2025. We do this each year to recap how much we have been able to accomplish for the Kingdom. Every year Vision Sunday is so special to experience and it helps kick off the New Year with excitement for what the Lord has prepared for First City Church in 2025. We hope you can join us for Vision Sunday during either service that day!
Twice a year our church participates in 21 Days of Prayer, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. In the Spring, not only do we have 21 Days of Prayer, but we also encourage our congregation to fast as well. Typically, people choose to fast from food, but it could also be something else like no social media or limiting screen time. The main goal of fasting is giving up something to make room for you to spend with the Lord in prayer. We hope you decide to kickoff 2025 with 21 Days of Prayer and fasting with us! In January we will post a prayer guide for anyone interested to follow along each day.

Our Spring Small Groups semester kicks off on February 2! The Spring semester lasts 13 weeks and will end on May 3. This is the best way to get connected in the community here at First City Church. We want to encourage everyone to find a small group to attend this Spring. Life is better in community!
Small Group Leader Training for anyone interested in leading a small group for the first time will be offered on January 12 or 19. Please RSVP to Mark Wise at smallgroups@firstcitychurch.org to let him know which class you plan to attend.
Small Group Fair will take place on January 26 in the Coffee House between services and after second service. This is a great time to explore all the small groups offered this semester, meet the group leaders, and ask any questions you may have before attending.
